Will Perfect Lite run in Windows Vista

DOS Application (eg. Ple.exe)

Somw of the 16 bit DOS Perfect Lite software works under Vista.  However, it will NOT draw the isolux contours on the screen and then promptly terminates the program.  An error message such as below is displayed.

This is quite serious as without being able to draw the contours you are unable to print them hence it is difficult to determine if your lighting design is adequate.  A work around is being investigated using the Microsoft Virtual PC.  I will advise in due course if this is effective.  However, in the meantime it is suggested that you don't opt for a new PC with Windows Vista.

WINDOWS Applications (eg. PlePcat.exe, PleVcat.exe, PleI2C.exe, PleC2I.exe etc.)

All the 32 bit Window Applications work OK except the Help facility (ie. activated when pressing the F1 key).  The operating system brings up a message indicating that WinHlp32 is no longer supported by VistaThis situation is easily fixed by downloading, from the Microsoft website, the Windows Help (WinHlp32.exe) program.  Click on this link for further details.

Sometimes installation of the software causes a problem due to Vista User Access Control feature.  If this is the case simply turn it off when installing the software and turn back on afterwards.
