Compatibility of Perfect Lite with:-
Vista
and Windows 7
DOS Application - Illuminance calculation (eg. Ple.exe)
Most of the (16 bit) DOS Perfect Lite software works under Vista/Windows 7 (32 bit). However, it will NOT draw the isolux contours on the screen it just terminates after displaying the following error message.
This is quite serious as without being able to draw the contours you are unable to print them, hence, it is difficult to determine if your lighting design is adequate.
However, a work around has been implemented, in Version 4.89, that bypasses this stage so you can at least print the contours or output to a DXF file etc.. Contact Trevor Caswell for details on how to obtain this fix.
WINDOWS Applications - P Category, V Category etc. (eg. PlePcat.exe, PleVcat.exe, PleI2C.exe, PleC2I.exe etc.)
All the (32 bit) Window Applications work OK except for the Help facility (ie. activated when pressing the F1 key).
The operating system brings up a message indicating that WinHlp32 is no longer supported by Vista/Windows 7, see below for the error message that is displayed.
This situation is easily fixed by downloading, from the Microsoft website, the Windows Help (WinHlp32.exe) program for the version of Windows you have.
Sometimes installation of the software causes a problem due to Vista's User Access Control feature. If this is the case simply turn it off when installing the software and turn back on afterwards.
